Dunedin Mid Year Build Meeting - 2009

The Mid Year Build event for Dunedin took place at the Otago Polytechnic on Thursday the 23rd of July.

Each team gave a presentation which included team selection and roles, a budget for the project, a manufacturing log recording who did what and how many hours each task took, what each team most and least enjoyed about the Challenge so far, and their advice to other teams.

This was followed by a team building exercise where each team had to build a tower upon which they could place a glass paperweight using only bamboo skewers and tailing rings .  The winner was the team with the highest tower upon which the weight rested for as long as it took Rex to measure the tower.

After which the Karts were judged with Rex, who had judged the ‘build’ of the karts to date, gave each team constructive comments on their progress thus far.
